The NZRCA has started a new format for the development of the youth in rodeo.
As part of this Youth Development programme there will be coaching clinics run in both the North and South Islands in November open to all members under the age of 18.
Events covered by these coaching days will be Calf ride, Steer ride, Bull ride and Barrel racing and will be run by some of our most talented cowboys and cowgirls to teach the basics involved in competing in these events.
These clinics will also be a prelude to selecting the NZ High School team for competitions both here and in Australia and will have application forms for the High School team available to be filled out.
The first of these clinics will be held at Millers Flat in the South Island on the 19th and 20th of November at a cost of $200 forthe Barrel race and $250 for rough stock. (See Millers Flat Rodeo camp ad in latest Rodeo news for more information) or contact James Adams 027 221 8522
The North Island clinic will be held the day after the Omahu Valley Bullride,on Sunday the 27th of November at the Omahu Valley Rodeo Arena. (Midway between Paeroa and Thames) at a cost of $50. Onsite camping is available.
Glenn Campin and Jonny Ward will be the coaches and the start time is 8.30am.
